the original interview:
1. What excites you about the subject of the nude?
I should say I prefer the nude when it is not a subject by itself. I really like the nude in portrait when it has some kind of authenticity. I think that’s the key to an interesting picture.
2. How far would you go? Are there taboos?
I would lie if I say that taboos doesn’t exist. I think—in a very broad perspective—they are part of human nature, and when you are photographing, you deal with them. But that doesn’t mean that my work is limited by the taboos I have. It can happen, but I think it is not the case.
3. When is a nude picture an artwork?
I’m not sure about artwork definition, but any pictures is a product of a transformation process. Then it can become something interesting or not. It depends on each person. In my work, if it has the characteristics I described in the first question, I am satisfied.
4. Do you have some inspiring examples/photographers/
Merlin Bronques, Viktor Vauthier, Helmut Newton or Terry Richardson are the first names that come to mind.
5. With which other subjects you art is dealing as well?
I don’t think nude by itself is a subject I’m dealing with. I think portrait is my main interest, but I’m also interested in architecture, cities or fashion, even if i’m not directly focused on that right now. Perhaps in the near future.
6. Which kind of project would you like to realize?
At the moment I wish to continue documenting the people from my generation. But I’m also open for new projects or partnerships in Berlin, if there are any opportunities.
